This year I am turning thirty years old.  When this thought enters my mind, I begin to shake a little, my pulse quickens, my mouth dries up, and all those negative undercurrents bubble up like crude oil through the Texas desert.  But I'll post about all that jazz later.

For now, it is enough to say that from August 16-24 I will be rocking the Midwest on a whirlwind tour of drinking, dancing, baseball game watching, and general mayhem which I call: Mike Fest 2008!!!!! or MIKWANZAA 2008!!!!!  (I cannot decide between the two titles.)

I doubt many of you will be in the area, but I still need to brag.  I will either end up in a limo or in jail by the end of the first weekend, engaged by Wednesday, and crowned "The King of _____________ (to be determined at a later date) by the second weekend."  I know that withoutscene will be present for at least the first weekend; so that makes me extremely happy.   

On one hand turning thirty makes me think of unfinished projects, love lost and facing an uncertain future...but on the other hand, it means partying with my best friend Denny, my sister Nicole, and a handfull of old college friends/roommates.

Watch out world; this summer MIKE is unleashed upon an unwitting populace.  Bring protection.
